Church Hill Fishery Lake

Three purpose dug Trout lakes of 2.5, 5 and 7.5 acres with natural and ornamental wildfowl, set in pasture land sometimes with sheep grazing. Depths between 11 and 20 feet. Facilities: Lodge with catering available for groups of 10 - 30 by prior arrangement.

The Fishing

The lakes are stocked weekly with three types of trout - rainbow, brown, and triploids.

Fishing methods
  • Fly fishing (dry and wet) is the only method allowed in the fishery.

  • Hooks must be barbless (or clamped down.)

Directions and parking

Otby Lake is situated in Otby, which is a farmstead lying one mile above the village of Walesby, Lincolnshire, close to Market Rasen and Caistor. Walesby can be reached either from the A46 or the B1125. But please note that access to Otby Lake is not from the village of Walesby. Access is by a farmtrack at the top of Walesby Hill, close to the B1125.
